Lythe CE VC Primary School and Goathland Primary School are pleased to be exploring the opportunity to formally federate, building on the strong and successful partnership that already exists between our two schools.

From Monday 14th September, both schools have entered into a six-week formal consultation period. This provides parents, carers, staff, governors and members of our wider school communities with the opportunity to learn more about the proposed federation and to share their views.

Federation would enable Lythe and Goathland to work even more closely together, while importantly each school would retain its own individual identity, character and place within its community. The proposal seeks to build upon our existing collaboration, creating greater opportunities to share expertise, resources and good practice while supporting the long-term strength and sustainability of both schools.

Below you will find the full Federation Proposal, which explains the reasons for the proposal, how the federation would operate and the potential benefits for both schools.

We welcome the views of everyone with an interest in the future of Lythe and Goathland. A Consultation Response Form is also available below for anyone wishing to provide feedback, raise questions or share their opinions during the consultation period.

We would encourage you to read the proposal carefully and take the opportunity to have your say. All responses received during the six-week consultation will be considered before any final decision regarding federation is made.
